History
The Journal of Contemporary Maqasid Studies (JCMS) is managed through a collaborative partnership between Maqasid Institute and Research Synergy Foundation.
Research Synergy Foundation serves as the official publisher of the journal and holds full authority over all publishing operations, including management, maintenance of the ISSN, as well as the execution of standard responsibilities associated with an international academic journal publisher.
In partnership with the publisher, Maqasid Institute acts as the supporting society for the journal. Its role encompasses oversight of the editorial process, participation in the editorial board and scientific review activities, facilitation of the review process for Arabic-language submissions, and promotion of the journal through its academic networks.
The collaboration between Research Synergy Foundation and Maqasid Institute was initiated in 2026 as a shared commitment to advancing scholarly work in maqasid studies. Since its establishment, JCMS has continued to develop and strengthen its academic presence through several key milestones:
- 2022-2025, JCMS was published biannually in January and July
- Starting in 2026, the publication schedule was updated to biannual issues in July and December. The journal is published through a collaboration between Research Synergy Foundation, serving as the publisher, and Maqasid Institute, as the supporting society.
- April 2026, JCMS has been indexed in ASCI
